Description: Automotive Mechanic – 2 Positions Employer: Garage Motor Group Positions available: 2 Location: Otahuhu Auckland City Employment type: Permanent, full-time Hours of work: Minimum of 30 guaranteed hours per week, up to a maximum of 50 hours per week Pay rate: NZD $27.00–$32.00 per hour, depending on skills, qualifications and relevant experience Garage Motor Group is looking for two Automotive Mechanics to join our workshop team. The successful applicants will carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and mechanical repairs on a range of motor vehicles. Key duties and responsibilities Inspect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in motor vehicles. Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance. Repair and replace worn, damaged or defective vehicle components. Repair and maintain engines, transmissions, braking, steering and suspension systems. Use diagnostic equipment and workshop tools to identify vehicle faults. Test vehicle components and systems after repairs. Conduct road tests where required to diagnose faults and confirm repairs. Carry out work according to manufacturers' specifications and workshop procedures. Maintain accurate records of servicing, repairs and parts used. Follow workplace health and safety requirements and keep the workshop and equipment clean and safe. Advise the workshop supervisor or manager of additional repairs identified during inspections or servicing. Minimum requirements Applicants must have either: At least 2 years of relevant automotive mechanic work experience; OR A relevant Level 4 or higher qualification on the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF), or an overseas qualification assessed as equivalent where required. Applicants should also: Have practical knowledge of vehicle servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and mechanical repairs. Be competent in using standard automotive workshop tools and diagnostic equipment. Be able to work safely and follow workshop procedures. Have good attention to detail. Be able to work independently and as part of a team. A current driver's licence is [required/preferred – select whichever genuinely applies]. Employment conditions Permanent, full-time employment. Minimum 30 guaranteed hours per week. Maximum 50 hours per week. Hourly pay of NZD $27.00–$32.00, depending on skills, qualifications and relevant experience.
