Relocation & Family Operations Coordinator

Local Coordinator/Independent Contractor

Location:North Shore City, Auckland
Job Type:Contract/freelance

Description

Start Date: As soon as possible (Ideally by the end of May) About the Role: We are looking for a trusted, Auckland-based person to act as our local coordinator and "eyes on the ground" to assist with a family's relocation and ongoing local operations. This is not a standard remote assistant or receptionist role. We need a proactive person who can take a task and figure it out. You will coordinate with locals and simply make sure things get fully sorted out from start to finish Main Responsibilities: Housing Coordination: Searching for properties, attending viewings, coordinating basic furnishing (including deliveries and layout), and setting up utilities. Vehicle Arrangements: Researching and arranging the purchase of vehicles, including test drives and administrative registrations. Provider & Vendor Coordination: Finding, testing, and managing local helpers such as cleaners, handymen, and maintenance staff. Ongoing Family Operations: Assisting with administrative arrangements like insurance, school communication, sports clubs for kids, and general local logistics. Required Qualities & Requirements: Location: You must be based in Auckland (ideally on the North Shore). Mobility: A valid driver's license and your own car are required for property visits, on-site coordination, and running local errands. Skills: High reliability, clear communication, good judgment, and strong digital communication skills. Experience: Previous experience as an executive assistant, project coordinator, or experience in real estate is a strong advantage. Working Structure & Compensation: This is an independent contractor/freelance role offering flexible working hours. First 2–3 months will be a more active setup phase, transitioning into lighter, ongoing, long-term support. To provide stability from the start, we offer a guaranteed retainer of 15 hours per week for the first 1–2 months, with any additional overflow hours billed accordingly. (Specific financial details will be discussed individually during the selection process). How to Apply: No CV needed. Instead, we would love for you to send us a short audio recording (approx. 2-3 minutes) answering these two questions: 1. Tell us a little about yourself - who you are and what your background looks like. 2. Why do you think you'd be a great fit for this specific role? Please send your recording to: frehormng@gmail.com We look forward to hearing from you.
